Scenic Mountain Medical Center accepts all major health insurance plans and managed care programs. Additionally, no one will be denied necessary medical care due to lack of insurance or inability to pay. However, if you are uninsured you may be asked to pay a deposit when you're admitted or when you register for an outpatient procedure.
Health Insurance Marketplace
Scenic Mountain Medical Center provides free assistance throughout the year to individuals who need help gaining access to health care services, or with paying medical bills. This includes helping individuals apply for coverage on the Health Insurance Marketplace.
Need Health Insurance?
Open enrollment for 2019 is now closed. Although open enrollment for 2019 is closed, you still may be able to obtain low or no-cost health insurance if you have experienced a qualifying event*.
The following qualifying events may enable you to enroll for coverage through the Health Insurance Marketplace outside of the open enrollment period.
- Getting married or divorced
- Adopting a child
- Accepting guardianship of a minor
- Moving to a locale outside of your current coverage area
- Job loss
- Loss of eligibility for Medicaid
- Expiration of COBRA benefits
- Existing health plan being decertified
Documentation may be required to support eligibility for enrollment based on a qualifying event. *Losing coverage through non-payment of premium is not considered a qualifying event.
